Given Ridotto’s recent first birthday — and the general rollercoaster ride of the markets — today the team offers a breath of fresh air from a high-level perspective. Recapping the past, and looking to the immediate future, Ridotto is right on track in delivering the first 100% open-source gaming ecosystem.
The team, which has grown from 2 co-founders to 13 dedicated members, has set the course for a multi-chain, gamified, secure, and decentralized platform with token utility at its core.
Multi-Chain
On the back of launching the $RDT token on both BSC with liquidity on PancakeSwap and ETH with liquidity on Uniswap, the team followed up with commissioning a token bridge on AnySwap. Now, last week, the team created a native platform $RDT token bridge. Ridotto’s now active token bridge will be indispensable to the platform’s future status as a multi-chain gaming operation. $RDT will be the lifeblood of the platform in all things gameplay and bankrolling, and will naturally be needed to free flow across all blockchains utilized by the games. While today’s bridge makes $RDT mobile between Binance Smart Chain and Ethereum, in the future $RDT will also travel across blockchains like Polygon, Cardano, Avalanche, Fantom, Solana, and others.
The developer team’s code base has also set the foundation to support any additional EVM-compatible blockchains. This means that at a technical level, all future EVM token expansions are just a click away. The only factors left to consider are strategic and market-oriented.
Gamified
The team has created the backend structure to host gamified challenges across games and coordinate events with extra reward potential in conjunction with marketing events.
In conjunction with this, the team has completed the platform’s profile functions, which will allow players to represent themselves via NFTs, track their individual metrics, and compete in community-wide challenges and tournaments.
Secure
This year has proven beyond a shadow of a doubt that Ridotto is committed to security. The team brought in three groups of auditors — Hacken, CertiK, and Solid Proof — to guarantee that user funds would be safe when interacting with the platform. Each of our product reviews found zero compromising bugs and vulnerabilities.
Beyond external audits, Ridotto’s developers have their own methods of testing and retesting code to ensure their reliability. They are automated delivery pipelines, untitests, that radically improve code quality, reduce the risk of security issues, and increase the speed at which the team can do all backend work.
In addition, the groundwork for Ridotto’s bug bounty program is complete. It will reward white hat hackers for finding vulnerabilities within the platform and thereby enhance the platform’s security with a decentralized community layer.
Decentralized
In one year, Ridotto successfully set the decentralized infrastructural and legislative framework for its gaming platform and in the process set the stage for its first set of lottery games.
At a legal level, the current set of legislative definitions successfully targets centralized casino models, both physical and online, and forces them to comply via licensure. While the path of licensure is severely restrictive to globally-minded projects like Ridotto, it happens to be non-applicable to decentralized casino models which, by virtue of their lack of ownership, lie outside of the traditional legal conceptualization of casinos.
The beauty and innovation of Ridotto’s legal strategy is by bucking centralized ownership, Ridotto enters into a new category in which the old rules no longer apply. Ridotto is not a casino, but a decentralized casino infrastructure, governed by a DAO, and utilized by an open-source and nebulous community of players, builders, and bankrollers. This means that Ridotto is positioned to avoid the many pitfalls of licensing, which includes both time intensiveness and high expenses as well as regional limitations and the responsibility to enforce non-anonymous KYC customer practices.
At an infrastructure level, the team has created a decentralized data collection system that will reconfigure the web app to be completely decentralized in preparation for the first game releases. While the previous version (including NFT farming) fetched data from centralized API endpoints on AWS, the new technical implementation, metainfo, will be solely fetched from the blockchain. This critical step is necessary for Ridotto’s web app to align with its decentralized, Uniswap-inspired legal framework.
Token Utility
This past year, the team has made sure to make the $RDT the heart and center of the ecosystem. Whether via casino ownership through NFT farming or playing, building, and bankrolling, all who interact with the platform will need $RDT. While achieving this mission will be an ongoing process, the team has laid the groundwork with NFT Farming and Staking.
Earlier this year, the team launched NFT Farming to a reception of over ten million tokens staked. This is equivalent to 8% of circulating tokens being locked up — a considerable testament to the demand for decentralized casino ownership. With NFT Farming installed, the community can farm ownership NFTs for their own customizable slot machines and lotteries. This will be crucial to Ridotto’s mission to introduce open source game operation and ownership.
More recently, Single Asset $RDT Staking and BNB- RDT Liquidity Pairing was launched on $BSC. While today’s emissions will come from the protocol treasury, in the future Ridotto’s staking portal will offer community members access to a widespread point of platform bankrolling, averaging profit exposure from all games. Ridotto’s staking will lay the blueprint for all future bankrolling on the platform.
The Future: Introducing Ridotto’s Jackpot and Wishlist Lottery
With the platform backend in place, Ridotto is turning its attention to delivering the first set of games, the lotteries. The team has already completed both the UI and UX and now simply need to connect the frontend to the backend and release.
Players can expect an intuitive, seamless experience that flows effortlessly from the top of the webpage, down, and across all pages. The product team refined the lottery pages to be maximally user-friendly.
Jackpot Lottery
The first lottery game will be a traditional jackpot lottery; players will buy tickets, be assigned random numbers, and then multiple winners will be selected to share a chunk of the prize sum.
Wishlist Lottery
Ridotto’s second lottery game will be the Wishlist Lottery. It’s a completely new and innovative game, built specifically for a web 3 audience. Participants will buy tickets with funds that will be converted to a prize item, such as a luxury Rolex, and one lucky participant will be selected at random to win it! Initially, Ridotto will launch with one secret mega prize, to be revealed later, but soon after will expand the Wishlist Lottery selection to include other awesome prizes, such as luxury goods, all-inclusive trips, and NFTs.
The inclusion of NFTs, such as Bored Ape Yacht Club and RTFKT, will uniquely appeal to a Web3 audience and make prize distribution instantaneous. However, the implementation of a voting mechanism in deciding prize type is what will truly set Ridotto’s lottery game apart as web3 native. For the first time ever, in both online and in-person lotteries, players will be able to democratically choose which prizes they want to win.
Betting
Following the lottery and slot, the community can bet on the release of Ridotto’s betting app which will let them wager on real-life events across sports such as the olympic games, NFL, NBA, and UFC, as well as digital web3 events like DeRace and Zed Run.
