When we want water, we just go to the tap. A couple steps to the sink, and voila- clean drinking water, a simple luxury that all too easily goes taken for granted.
Unfortunately, for millions of people across the globe, the situation is very different. Some families in Africa spend their entire day traveling unimaginable distances — sometimes over 40 km — to secure drinkable water: Life’s most basic necessity.
To make matters worse, what water they do have is also shared with pets and wildlife, and further contaminated by chemicals from daily household chores and agricultural runoff.
This story is an old one. Unclean drinking water has plagued parts of Africa, Asia, and South America for centuries, despite countless NGOs, non-profits, and entire national governments dedicating billions of dollars to improving the situation.
While huge strides have been made, Ridotto is inspired by @IOHK_Charles to continue the mission and end this crisis once and for all.
In this aim, we are one among many Cardano projects excited to participate in a “Grow Your Stake Fund,” in which we will donate 100% of our ADA rewards to the drop4drop organization. They will use our pooled resources to continue their crucial work of building secure drinking wells in some of the world’s most impoverished communities.
Ridotto is here to change the rules of the game, starting with making everyone eligible to play. As our technology innovates and decentralizes power structures, so too will we work to spread our blessings to those who need them most.
